Frequently Asked Questions

I don't have a camcorder. Can I still use a Bullet Cam?

A bullet camera is only a viewing lens, it does not record the images. You will need either a camcorder that takes AV-In or a suitable recorder such as a 'hard drive recorder'.

I have a camcorder but it doesn't have AV-in.

You will not be able to view or record images from a bullet cam or similar. You will need either a camcorder or suitable 'Hard drive recorder' that takes AV in.

Do you sell camcorders?

We can supply a vast range of camcorders.  When buying a camcorder ensure that it is an AV-in equipped camcorder.

We also supply alternatives to the camcorders. in the form of multi-use 'Hard Drive Recorders'  that will record the footage from external cameras, such as the on board bullet cams.

This is quite an in depth discussion and depends on your use as they can both be used perfectly well with the bullet cameras. Take a look at the above links and also Hard Drive Recorders vs Camcorders as that will give you much more information.

Are bullet cameras waterproof?

Bullet Cameras by bike cameras.com are specially made for sports used and are therefore waterproof, however, they are NOT for use under water! i.e. submersible.

I've seen some other bullet cameras on the market. What's the difference?

Please do not be fooled by price or empty promises.  Our equipment has been specially made for use in extreme sports.  Other bullet cameras that you see on the internet or in the high street are for CCTV purposes only and NOT for use in sports or other pursuits where the camera is constantly moved about.

I've bought a bullet camera from another company and the microphone is built in which is a pain in the butt as all you pick up is wind noise, are yours like this?

Absolutely not. What good is a mic exposed to wind at 180mph on a race track?

The microphone we supply is a highly sensitive mini-microphone supplied separately to avoid wind noise etc. Only companies selling bullet cameras meant for CCTV use where audio and visual is required will supply these, NOT companies such as ourselves who have the cameras made specifically for sports use!

I have a mini moto, will the cameras fit?

The cameras are very small and versatile. 7cm in length and only 21mm in diameter! (about the size of a guys index finger to give you a very rough idea)

We have recently supplied a 2 camera system to a mini moto customer with superb results.Take a look at the testimonials page and the video clips page
